Hi Earl and list, My "first" ELAM was Edward ELAM, born in North Carolina in 1787, but his wife, Mary Elizabeth HARMON was from a family that came from Virginia. A researcher-cousin says his father may have been named Daniel, but his mother was Patience DENNIS, who a great-grandson claims was a full-blooded Cherokee. Any links with your ELAMs? Judy
Kristina, I am so sorry to hear about you accident. My daughter was involved in a hit and run accident when she was just out of high school. She was exiting the freeway and they hit her from behind, rolled her car and wrapped it around a pole. Thankfully all she had was a broken pelvis and a few bruises. when I saw the car I couldn't believe she wasn't killed. It took her a very long time to be able to drive on the freeway. It will take time for you, also, but it will go away. Pat in TX --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kristina, I missed the details on your accicdent. You will eventually overcome most of the fear. In 1999 I was stopped at a yield sign and a rather large truck came up on the back of my car with such force it popped out the windshield. Needless to say even today I am scarred of large trucks behind me. Take care .... Now I would like to thank you for helping all of us out here that need your help and except your generousity. Could you please send me what you have on July 20 1747 John Martin Thanks again-- Barb in Athens, WV --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I am interested in communicating with anyone who has information about the descendants of Gilbert and Ann Elam and of Martin Elam. They migrated to the Bermuda Hundred area of VA in the mid-1600s. I am descended from William Elam of Charlotte Co. (c. 1734-1809) and have published a book on the Elam family with two chapters devoted to VA (17th and 18th centuries); the rest is the migration of his descendants to SC, MS, and TX. I am looking for specific connections between William and Martin from whom I think he descended. I will appreciate hearing from anyone with informtion about the family. Earl H. Elam
Any info your can find on the early LEMON family would be appreciated. They married into the WIMMER line, I think, so that would be of interest too. Very kind of you to offer.! Kay

Mr. Elam, I live in the western end of Prince Edward County VA. The area is called ELAM. Perhaps you will find information on your family in Prince Edward since Charlotte and Prince Edward Counties are next to each other. At various times the question of the Legal Age for individuals is asked. On another Rootsweb list the following site was given. It is a very interesting site and covers about all situations where an individual is given legal rights based upon their age. http://www.usgenweb.org/researchers/misc.html John Towles Morris TOWLES List
