Be good yall, as soon as the storm passes, I will begin posting again to myweb site. Kristina www.nyvagenealogy.homestead.com

Those of you that will be in the path of Isabell please stay safe and know that people have you in their thoughts and prayers. Please check back with all of us as soon as you can so that we know you are safe. Pat in Florida
I hear what you say! I did just that, zipped up my databases and stories (.doc files) then uploaded them to a file server for safe keeping. Always do backups, even if it is simply burning them on discs and make multiples. Don't keep all of your eggs in one basket. Make a second copy and store it away from your home! Sorry guys, I meant to change the subject line. christine
HI, I live in Portsmouth Virginia which is right next to Norfolk and virginia beach...we are expecting it very bad here, should hit us tomorrow sometime. After it leaves north carolina is headed directly through us in hampton roads. Lots of evacuations. christine ----- Original Message ----- From: <Nwin21311@aol.com> To: <VAROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 17, 2003 8:14 PM Subject: Re: [VAROOTS] From List Mom--Please Read > I live in Dinwiddie, VA, I hope it is not as bad as the weather people are > predicting. I live in Dinwiddie, VA, I hope it is not as bad as the weather people are predicting. Stay safe.
We are getting it here too, where are you located? christine
Hi, It looks like we are going to get it head on. I am going to go and stay and my job, it is mandatory.
You can obtain copies at Spotsylvania Courthouse. I have done it many times.
Hi, Oops, they are copies filed in deed books. Mistakenly said they were originals. Sorry for my goof. Cindy Spotsylvania VA
I would go to LVA - I think it's easier because when you end up jumping from county to county - they are all right there - just grab another microfilm. Also some counties no longer allow you to make copies of the documents so if you go to Spottsylvania, find out first what their rules are. That way you can avoid some disappointments. Hi, I would suggest the courthouse because they have originals. And very well orgnized and indexed. Cindy Spotsylvania County, VA
Good to know they were not lost to fires or other destruction back in 1860's. --- CLowe101@aol.com wrote: > Hi, > > I would suggest the courthouse because they > have originals.
