    3. Monasco Mtn, Piney Mtn, Rockfish River and it's South Fork are all in present day Nelson Co. The Rockfish River forms a part of the Nelson/Albemarle Co line, where it flows into the James River. The South Fork flows through the Rockfish Valley, from about Beech Grove through Nellysford and Lodebar, along Rte 151. Monasco Mtn, lies about 4 miles southwest of Schyuler with Piney Mtn, directly southwest of Monasco. I haven't spotted Glady Creek on my map. Freddie S. > If anyone on the list can help me approximately locate the following land features in Amherst Co. VA c. 1789, I would appreciate the help: > "Glady Creek" > "Piny Mountain" > "Manascoes Mountain" > "South Fork of the Rockfish River" > > If nothing else, if anyone can give me approximate distance/direction for these places with Amherst, the county seat, as the point of departure, that would probably get me in the ball park, so to speak. My guess is that some of these items may not even be in the present-day Amherst Co. > Regards, > Larry
