    2. Where is Sparrows Point? I want to make sure I send a query to the right List and am unsure. My paternal grandmother told me before she died in 1975 that the family JORDAN Bible was with a 1st cousin, Ann Elizabeth Crewe Clark whose son was/is David Clark of Richmond. My grandmother and Ann Elizabeth are direct descents of Penelope Tomlinson and Francis Jordan (Jr) who were married 1/7/1824 in Norfolk; I know something of their parents as well. 2. In a message dated 1/3/06 4:00:33 PM US Mountain Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Subject: 1679 Inventory of Judith Burton Hunt Parker; Surry I am a BURTON researcher. My ggg grandfather was a colonial but have not found where his family was in the colonies. Does anyone know the parentage of this Judith Burton Hunt Parker. Her family, brothers and sisters? My ggg grandfather George Burton (I know there were many of these) married a Rrebecka Lee and her mother was a Rebecka Hunt Lee of the Irish Hunts of NJ and the Lee Family of NJ. It is rumored in the family that my ggg grandfather said he was from Caroline, VA but I have found no leads to his parents or Burtons in Caroline Co., VA in the 1750-60s approx date of my Geroge Burtons birth. George Burton was in Rev War, I presume he met and was befriended by Mr Lee (Can't recall his given name just now) at Valley Forge and went to NJ with him at one time. After severance from the VA Militia that he served in he traveled west into KY with the Lee family and in that state married Rebecka Lee in Shelby Co., Ky in 1798. They settle in Jefferson Co., IN in 1811 and that is where he stayed and raised his many children. Several of the first children of the family were KY born and there again I have not found just what counties they were born in, I also realize that KY was not a state at this time but a part of VA. Mr Lee was in and we find him recorded in Woodford Co., KY and mentioned in several books. No memtion of a George Burton living with him there . Jefferson Co., IN researchers did extensive research on the Lees but not on the Burton's. Rebecka Hunt Lee her Hunt family is well researched also being from Ireland. I have been on several surname lists hoping to find my George Burton. sorted out from all the others I have found of that same name. but so far no connection. FHC that is in Mesa, AZ is 40 mi one way to visit and is a very busy library yr round. I go in there and they scurry me to the census schedules and say that is where I find my ancestors. But I have not been priveledged answers to my questions of research in any other area. I had found one ancestor in the Allen County Public Library in the 1910 census and their printers were no functioning so took info from the reels and decided to get the info in AZ when I got home. Then when I gave Mesa FCH my info they promptly told me that there was no reel like that. I kept trying and finaly found some one that knew of where to find that particular reel and it was not were the others had been looking. I know this library should have what I need but no one there will lead me in a direction. I research in IN books and find family there but have not found KY or VA books on my own that have my needed info. I am sorry to ramble on but throught you needed to know that I have been trying to no avail to do reasech on my own. I have found George Burtons children scattered over this nation in many states besides IN where he first settled and migrated no more. WI, MN, NE, OR WA I have found his children lived, passed thru and continued on. So far as I knew from my contacts no one has found Geroges Parents. Maybe their records were burnt with other many records of that day if Rev and Civil Wars. Thank you for reading my info that I have thus far and hope that somewhere I will find my George Burton's family. Beej
