Dear List Servs; It was recently brought to my attention that Zachariah Crawford would have been to young to have children, as I have him listed below, but he is in the 1850 Rockingham census as being 55, with the family I have. Any suggestions? I'm really confused on this now... ZACHARIAH2 CRAWFORD, son of JERIMIAH, was born 1795 in Rockingham Co. VA. He married LEIVY. >>Children of ZACHARIAH CRAWFORD and LEIVY are: i. JOHN CRAWFORD, b. 1806. ii. OBEDIAH CRAWFORD, b. 1807, Virginia. iii. GEORGE W. CRAWFORD, b. 1812, Virginia. iv. ROBERT CRAWFORD, b. 1821; m. SARAH. The information above gives Zachariah's birth as 1795. He would have been age 11 and 12 when the first two children were born. Could John b. 1806 and Obediah b. 1807 have been brothers? Or sons of another (perhaps Zachariah's uncle) Zachariah? I, too, am looking for a Zachariah Crawford who lived in Rockingham Co. I have seen listed a Zachariah Jr and Zachariah Sr as serving in the militia 1815-1817. Any ideas? Mae
