Mrs. Lam was born Feb. 7, 1910, in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Emmett A. and Ardista Breeden Dean. She was a member of Blue Ridge Independent Church in Elkton. She was a seamstress and had worked 50 years for Casey Jones, Blue Bell and Wrangler. On Sept. 6, 1930, she married Clarence Franklin Lam, who died March 27, 1932. Survivors include a daughter, a sister, and a brother; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The funeral was conducted Saturday, Oct. 30, by the Rev. Gerald Meeks at Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home in Elkton. Burial was in Hensley Cemetery. The family said memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Independent Church, 38 Independent Road, Elkton 22827, or Elkton Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 152, Elkton.
