Somewhere in the past year or so, this very same issue came up on a Penna. Dutch list I subscribe to. All I can really remember is that there actually WAS such a thing as a "Tunker" minister, but no one could really tell me the difference between "Tunker" and "Dunker." Maybe the confusion arose because sometimes, using a German dialect "Dunker" comes out sounding like "Tunker." I think the term "Dunker" comes from the church members using the "full immersion" method of baptism, but again I am no expert. I got the impression that the "Dunkers/Tunkers" were aligned with the Mennonites. I'm sure there's a website somewhere that might explain it more fully.
