Hello all, Last night I stumbled across a section of the "Valley of the Shadow" project that allows for a name search of newspapers from the 1850's and 1860's, including: Staunton Republican Vindicator, 1859-1865 Staunton Spectator, 1857-1861 Franklin Valley Spirit, 1859-1865 Franklin Repository and Transcript, 1863-1865 Here's the URL: http://jefferson.village.Virginia.EDU/vshadow2/news/allnews.html I did a search on GIBBONS, and now I have to figure out who the John Gibbons that was a blacksmith and died as a result of an accident in 1859 is.
