FYI -- I just ran across a web page that provides much historical information on the Kisling line: http://www.megsinet.com/~sharprm/library/kesling.htm Ann Kisling was the mother of the Frances Virginia (Kemper) Gibbons who may have been the receiver of that letter I inquired about earlier. According to this webpage, Ann's father Jacob Kisling had a sister named Catherina Kisling who married a Jacob Miller. I wonder if this could be the Jacob Miller referred to in the letter. Does anyone know anything at all about the Jacob Miller who married Catherina Kisling? If so, I would like to hear from you. Jacob Kisling is my ancestor through two different lines of descent. His daughter Ann Kisling married 1st John Pence & 2nd Rodham Kemper -- this is the line discussed just now (Kisling > Kemper > Gibbons). Jacob's daughter Christina Kisling married Joseph Mauzy -- their daughter Julia Mauzy is also my ancestor through the Kisling > Mauzy > Winsborough > Yancey line.
