Jim, I have more info on my Bear side than I do on my Runkle side. My husbands ggggrand parents were Henry Baer and Catherine Runkle Baer. Henry Baer/Bear was born in Rockingham Cty, Va 1769/1852 married around 1792 to Catherine Runkle born 1773, died Oct. 9, 1846. Both are buried in Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton, Va. Catherine's parents were Peter Runkle and Margaret Cook of East Point, Rockingham Cty, Va. Henry and Catherine Bear had 9 children. My husbands line is from their son Col. Jacob Bear.
