I'm in the process of trying to sort out the various Hoffman/Huffman marriages in Rockingham County hoping to establish which of these people were in my line--VALENTINE HOFFMAN. He arrived in Rockingham County in 1780 and became an elder at Frieden's Church. The name evolved to Huffman about 1825. I know there were other Hoffman/Huffman families in Rockingham County and elimination of some of these marriages as not in my line would be VERY helpful.
