I asked for the parents of John Miller that married Caty Bowman, and so far no one has been able to give them. I am wondering if anyone can tell me the names of the Millers that are NOT his parents. John may have been born as early as 1755 and he was in Washingto Co., TN by 1787. Does anyone have information on the descendants of Adam Miller, said to be the first settler in Rockingham Co.? I have some on his children, but not much on his grandchildren. Also, there was a Jacob Miller that in 1787 was exempted from paying poll tax because of age. Was this the Jacob Miller, whoe's estate was settled in 1793? It appears that he had a son, John, could this have been my John? Any information on the Millers of Rockingham Co. will be appreciated. John married into the Jacob Bowman family. I do not know his religion prior to that, but he probably either was or became a Mennonite, or Church of the Brethern.
