Since we are doing Roll Call, I have one dead end that no one at the Kline/Cline GenForum site can seem to help with. John Kline was born approx. 1804 and married Rebecca Purkeypile in Rockingham Co. in 1822. In DESCENDANTS OF DAVID HOLSINGER OF VIRGINIA by Paul G. Holsinger,M.D., he claims that the land on which the Church of the Brethren atLinville Creek was donated by John Cline and wife on March 1, 1830. The original building was erected that same year. In the same book, he is referred to as John Cline of Arkton. In the 1850 Census of Rockingham Co. he is listed in the 56th District in dwelling 2003 as follows. Cline, John 46 M Laborer he can evidently read and write. Elizabeth 40 F she cannot Mary 22 F she cannot Dewitt 13 M Thomas 8 M Rebecca 10 F Samue l7 M William 2 M Anyone out there shed any light? I have never found any connection between him and Elder John Cline. -----Original Message----- From: VAROCKIN-D-request@rootsweb.com <VAROCKIN-D-request@rootsweb.com> To: VAROCKIN-D@rootsweb.com <VAROCKIN-D@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, September 10, 1999 7:54 PM Subject: VAROCKIN-D Digest V99 #127
