    3. Good advice from Karen. Roll Call is not a legitimate subject for any genealogical content. However, better advice might be to discontinue roll calls completely. If you think about it, roll calls do nothing that can't be done 365 days out of the year. The only real thing a roll call does is tie up RootsWeb facilities by concentrating huge numbers of messages in a short time, messages that would normally be spread throughout the year. At least one list absolutely forbids roll calls as being an inefficient use of time and facilities. Maybe this list should consider such a restriction. This would in no way restrict the ability of the individual to participate in the list. It would only prevent a call that concentrates possibly hundreds of messages within a short timeframe.
