Especially his grand-daughter Anna Smith? My ancestors certainly thought they were descended from Captain Daniel Smith, but there was an Anna Nancy Smith also alive at that point in time, and her descandants also point to Captain Daniel Smith as their ancestor. I doubt any parent would name 2 daughters Anna, especially being that they were so close to each other in age.
