I have a John and Nancy Wallace Hogshead who were born in the late 1600's and had a daughter Rebecca Hogshead who married Isaac Carson and lived in Augusta Co Va.in the mid 1700's It is quite an unusual name would love to know your Hogshead connection. Jackie

The Hogshead name is indeed rather strange, however, it was fairly prevalent in the latter half of the 1700s and well into the 1800s in Augusta County. The John Hogshead and wife Nancy Wallace you mention were my 6th Great Grandparents. My connection is through their daughter, Agnes Nancy Hogshead, who married James Bell.
