My ggrand father lived in the Lee District of Shenandoah County. He went away to the war and never came back. Are any records available that would indicate when and where he might have enlisted. I am sure he was a prifvate, not a captain! He lived so close to the county line that he went to Rockingham County, frequently. Any lists, books, archives, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Betty
