    3. Janet & Earl Downs have a chapter about Yancey Mill at Yancey Post Office in their book "Mills of Rockingham Co., VA, Vol. 3." On page 137 of that book is an article from 1901 that says Mauzy & Armentrout operated a store at McGaheysville and a "similar establishment at Yancey P.O., a thriving trade station on the Norfolk and Western Railroad." The article from the "Evening News Illustrated Trade Edition" goes on to talk about how wonderful the store was. She also has some clippings of marriages of folks from Yancey P.O., and some pages from the store ledger. Also a 1900 invoice from A. S. Yancey who had mills at Yancey and Elkton. Thought that might be interesting to you. Pat Turner Ritchie Researcher of Brocks Gap area of Rockingham Co, VA.
