Hello, Can anyone tell me where Yancey used to be in Rockingham county? I can't find it on the current maps but it DID exist in 1895 (it appears on a list of towns then and had a population of 22 as well as a post office but no railroad). My grandmother always said that she was born there. Thanks for whatever help you can offer! Debbie Ullom
