I am searching for the ancestors of a William Root(b.1824) in Virginia. I have come across, I believe, some of the Roots you mention in my researches. I am pretty sure William's life began in Augusta(Waynesboro) and ended up in Rockingham County where he was hit and killed by a train in 1885. Have you progressed in your your research?I have been unable to find the parents of William.
