    2. Hello everyone. I have an ancestor on the 1810 Rockingham County census that gives the location as New Haven. Can't find that anywhere on a current map of the county. Does anyone know where New Haven was? Thanks for the help. Karen Lee Williamsburg,VA

    3. Karen: New Haven was a town that was authorized around 1800. It was located on the north side of North River across the river from Port Republic. When it ceased to be recognizable as a town I don't know, but when I was a young boy in the late 1940s and early 1950s, there was nothing there to make you think there was ever a town there. Our of curiosity, what family that was there in 1810 are you researching? Also, later in the 1800s there was Lee family in Port Republic. Are you or your husband possibly related to that family?
