Maxine, There are no other Longs in the records (just my Henry), nor do I see any Pumphrey(s). I have not come across a Michael Long old enough to be yours. I would like to hear more about your Micheal Long. However, that name does not appear in my families. My (brick wall) Henry Long (believed to be German) was in NC by 1777, possibly leaving VA and the Peaeked Mountain area by 1766.
