My gggg grandfather was John Rose born ca. 1765. His wife was Dorothy ????? John was living in Brocks Gap between 1799 and 1810. He then moved to Fairfield County Ohio and by 1828 was in Pickaway County Ohio. He died in early spring of 1831. Was wondering if there would possibly be an obituary in a newspaper for the Rockingham area for John in that time period and if any one knows where would be a good place to look for such a thing. While in Brocks Gap, he was "Security" to the marriage of George Siever who married Uley Serick (Surge) of Mathias Surge (Surge name is same as later Sirk or Zirk) the consent witness was George May. Any help to finding who Dorothy was would be great!! thanks donna
