On 26 March 1798, a marriage bond was issued in Rockingham County, VA for the marriage of Jacob HARNER and Katherine PIRKEY. Katherine was the daughter of Henry PIRKEY and Margaret CONRAD. On the 1850 census in Augusta County, there was a Jacob HARNER, age 77, living in the household of Henry A. HARNER, age 52. Jacob indicated he was born in Maryland. Most likely Henry was the son of Jacob, and Henry was of the age that this could be the same Jacob who married Katherine PIRKEY.
