Dear List, Looking for anyone with information on this family: According to marriage records at Rockingham Co.Courthouse: Bond Book 4, pg 123 Rockingham Co to wit: This day John Hill wrote oath before me David H Gambill Deputy of Clerk of said County that Sarah Hill daughter of Richard Hill who is about to intermarry with William Gaither is upwards of twenty one >years of age and resides in this county. Given under my hand 8 Feb 1838. Also found in death records: John R. Gaither died 16 Sept 1864 at Almira Prison NY of organic diarrhea. Was 26 y 7 m and 11 days. Unmarried. Parents were William and Sarah F. Gaither. >From the marriage records: Amantha C. Gaither 27 yrs married 18 Oct 1869 to John W. Bryant. She was the daughter of William and Sarah Gaither.
