Kyger Russell A. Kyger Russell Archie Kyger, 53, of Bloomer Springs Road in McGaheysville, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at his home of cancer. Mr. Kyger was born Nov. 27, 1951, in Harrisonburg, and was the son of Beatrice Virginia Shifflett Kyger of McGaheysville and the late Joseph Reid Kyger. He grew up in the Washington, D.C., and Maryland area. He helped Quatum Link (Q-Link) get started in 1984, which later turned into AOL. He worked for the Capitol Center, where he set up for games and concerts. He was a guitar player, who wrote and composed music and played with several musicians at the Capitol Center, both rock and blues. Mr. Kyger worked on genealogy for 25 years with Ellis Worth Kyger and later with Maggie Kyger. He returned to the Shenandoah Valley in 1999. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Marie Dove Kyger, whom he married Nov. 21, 1980; a daughter, Michelle Elvanda Virginia Kyger at home; and a brother, Daniel Michael Kyger of New Carlton, Md. Pastor Roland Good will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home.
