I would be happy to share what little I have on this line with you in return for information on your line. I list Isaac Reid as a child of Abraham and Elizabeth, but have no information on him or his descendants. Unfortunately, I don't know where Abraham and Elizabeth were buried. In fact, I don't have a death date for either of them, except to know that Elizabeth died after 1850. Hope to hear from you. 3. Wayne, I don't know how many Reids/Reeds there were in the early 1800s, but it seems like there'd be a high probability of their being related. That said, I don't have information on another Jacob beside "my" Jacob, who married Sarah Kiser. At first reading your message, I thought, uh oh, I've got the wrong wife for Jacob, because the estimated birth date (1820) was in the range of what I've estimated my Jacob to be (1816). But, the children's names are different. I have John, Elizabeth, Amanda, and Abram. I know there's a record of the marriage of Jacob and Sarah (Kiser) in the RC marriages, but I don't have the date (I'm embarassed to say). Most of my information is pieced together from various sources, including the following: Daily News Record, Harrisonburg, VA, 7 May 1916: "Mrs. Elizabeth Robey Dead...Stricken with Apoplexy While Visiting Her Daughter in Broadway....Funeral Today...died last night at 8:30...at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Kennedy, on Central Street. She was aged 78 years, three months and 26 days, having been born January 9, 1838 in Rockingham...where she spent all of her life...maiden name was Reid...On December 30, 1856, she married Henry Buhl, who died in 1882. Several years later she married S.S. Robey who died in December, 1915....One sister, Mrs. Amanda Walker, of Hardin, Missouri and one brother, Abram Reid, who lives in the West, survive her with the following children: John Buhl, of near New Market, Mrs. Fannie Derrow, of near Harrisonburg, Mrs. Annie Cave, of near Atherton, Mrs. Jennie Knupp, of Daphna, Mrs. Ida Kennedy, of Broadway, Mrs. Sarah J. Knupp, of Whatcheer, Iowa; also 22 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services, conducted by Elder D.H. Ziegler and Rev. Geo. B. Showalter will be held at Linville Creek Churhc tomorrow morning. The procession will meet at Mrs. Kennedy's residence at 11 o'clock. The pallbearers will be her six grandchildren--Byron and Jessie Cave, Raleigh Derrow, Jacob H. Derrow, Charles and Walter Buhl." This is Elizabeth, daughter of Jacob Reid and Sarah Kiser (per Rockingham County marriage records), my gg grandmother. Not mentioned is her brother John Reed, who was cited in Jacob Reed's 1848 will. A problem is his birthdate was about 1827, while Elizabeth's was about 1838. Unless Amanda and Abram were in between (I don't have their birth dates), that's a big gap. I wonder if your Jacob and my Jacob were cousins, their fathers being brothers? I hope Don will be able to help you out. Bill Wayne M.
