    2. I presume that the land deeds are official government documents from the county courthouse. What records are you using to "indicate births"? To the best of my knowledge, there are no government birth records in Virginia at that time. But I will also say that I had 3GGPs who did move from Rockingham to Rockbridge in the 1830s [based on County and Church Marriage Records, Church Baptismal Records, Census Records, Burial Records, etc].
