My lines are all of the Shiflet spellings, the Bruce line, the Collier line, and the Shaw line. I come from the following lines of which I will list below. Edward Shiflet/Joice Herring Martin Collier/Mary Williams Betty Bruce/? her son..Loudon Bruce/Millie Estes Plus many others....... But this picture comes from my great aunt who was Carrie Shifflett Shaw. She was born in Berrytown, VA, Rockingham County. Now my cousin just died and his wife said it was not from her line which leaves our lines. I would appreciate any help I can get in identifying this picture. I will be happy to email it to anyone interested. Also, if I do send you a copy, I would appreciate you passing it around to any of the elders that are left to see if they can identify it, or even pass it to anyone who isn't related but may have an idea who this may be. Now my direct line back to the early to mid 1800's lived in Rockingham county. Elkton, Berrytown, McGaheysville, Beldor Holler, Island Ford, and some from Shifflett Holler, Greene County, and Orange County(mostly Colliers). My best guess on this is she is either a Shiflet, Bruce or Collier. I believe those are the only lines that Aunt Carrie would have had, but I could be wrong. Bob, If I could send this to you ... would you post it on the Rockingham website as an unknown and list that it could be a Shiflet, Bruce or Collier? My home email address has changed so I would prefer to use my work email since that one never changes.
