In case I forgot to mention it, Whitesel's does have a very small cemetery with it while Pleasant Valley does not. In a message dated 2/1/2009 7:47:38 P.M. Hebron (about 1913) then it went back to Whitesel's. In 1962, Whitesel's EUB Church and Pleasant Valley EUB both closed and merged to become St. James United Methodist Church (of which I'm a member and on the Historical Committee). Whitesel's and Pleasant Valley were two separate churches several miles apart. To get to the old Whitesel's Church (which is now owned by the Mennonite community) you head south on Route 11/South Main Street from Harrisonburg. When you get to the stop light that has a 7-11 on your right and an Exxon on your left, you turn left. You will be on Pleasant Valley Road. You cross the interstate and turn right at the stop light and be on Early Road. Follow that until you come to the stop sign. You take a left and then an immediate right which is Scholars Road(paved). Follow Scholars Road until you come to the second "Y" which will be South Whitesel's Church Road. Bear left and follow the road(dirt) and it will bring you right past the church.
