Deb beat me to posting that Georgia Harper's maiden name was Peterson and not Patterson. Georgia was the daughter of William Peterson and Melvina Looker. I am interested in hearing from anyone researching the PETERSON family since William Peterson is my ggg grand uncle. I descend from his brother Isaac Peterson and his wife Judith Pummell. Hey Jim, Here we go again ... :D Can't remember if you and I have covered these Petersons yet or not, so my apologies if I'm covering old ground. William Henry Peterson was my 4th Great Grandfather. His first wife was (I think) Sarah Beazely/Beasely. They were married July 20, 1819, in Shenandoah county. Their son, Charles Wesley Peterson, was my 3G grandfather. Charles' granddaughter, Bessie Baker (Peterson) Gum, was my great grandmother. Bessie died Dec. 12, 1994, at the age of 106. William married 2nd to Melvina Looker on August 17, 1836, in R'ham county. William was 28 years older than Melvina. From what I understand, Georgia was the 3rd child born to William and 2nd wife, Melvina. I'm aware that William had brother Isaac, but unfortunately I know little to nothing about Isaac. Doubtful the above is of much help other than to cover or re-cover another way in which our lines connect. William (March 22, 1792 - Feb. 19, 1883) and Melvina (January 14, 1820 - July 14, 1899) are buried together in the Dayton Cemetery. Michael Sellers ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joseph J. oh, and by the by, Georgia (Peterson) Harper's given name was "Georgiana V. Peterson". Unfortunately, I do not know what the V stood for ... Virginia, perhaps ...?
