Evans. According to family "legend", John and his four sons-- Jacob F. 1846-1924, Reuben H. 1850-1911, David 1853-1930, and John (1849- ?), fled the war and inscription into the Confederate Army. They supposedly traveled at night and on foot to Ohio. After the war, they sent back to Virginia for Catherine and a younger daughter, Mary. I have some information on Anna Catherine's family, (Jacob Hoover and Elizabeth Lam(b)? You wouldn't happen to have any information on John Evans who married Anna Catherine, would you?
