Ed, I did a quick google search and found a site that mentions Morrison Photography. There is also a photo of Polly Shank that was taken by Morrison and is for sale. The date on the photo is Nov 12, 1878. www.familywesearch.com/Photos.aspx ----- Original Message ----- From: <ed-rinaca@comcast.net> To: <VAROCKIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2009 6:48 PM Subject: [VAROCKIN] Morrison Artist and Photographer >I have a photo marked on the back "Morrison Artist and Photographer, >Harrisonburg Va". This is NOT my family or post, nor do I know the dates of these individuals, but since I haven't seen other answers.... I can't tell you EXACTLY what it means, but it is highly likely that one of the following applies to the two John Lawsons: 1) they descend from a common ancestor [ie they are cousins] OR 2) one of them is a descendant of the other OR 3) they are the same individual with two wives {actually they could be the same individual with one wife who went by both names Eve and Rebecca} Dates should narrow down which of these cases are more likely. Looking for any information on Charles McClain who shows up 1798 in Bracken Co., Ky. as Trustee for city of Augusta. In 1801 he was in Clermont Co., Ohio where it appears he died 1810-1820. His wife was named Margaret and he had a son named John. Son John married Jane McCormick 1815 in Bracken Co. with John E. McCormick as bondsman. There was another John McClain in Bracken Co. from 1802 thru mid 1830's. I'm wondering if there is any connection to the Charles McClain who married Margaret Dictum 1785 in Rockingham Co., Va. This Charles lived in town of Harrisonburg. I find evidence of him in Rockingham Co. from 1774 thru 1792. I'm trying to determine if the McClains were connected to my McCormicks who may have been in Rockingham Co. at that time. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that can identify with these McClains.
