    2. Joe Clinebell
    3. Hello, If anyone has a copy of "Rockbridge County, Virginia death register, 1853-1870", I hope maybe someone could lookup something for me. I am seeking the death record of Susan Jane Clinebell/Klinebell b. ABT 1804. She was in Rockingham Co., VA, 6th District in the 1860 census. I can't find her in anymore census, so I think she might have died in Rockingham Co., VA. Thanks in advance for the help! Merry Christmas! :-) -------signature------- Joe Clinebell <jrclineb@bellsouth.net>

    1. [VAROCKIN] John C. MANN b.1836/37 Rockingham Co.
    2. Cindy Musgrove
    3. Its been a while since I posted, so thought I'd try again. I am looking for information on the parents and other family members of John C. MANN b.1836/37 timeframe in either Rockingham Co. or Augusta Co. VA. According to John's marriage certif. his parents were Alvin T. & Harriet MANN and he was born in Augusta Co. I believe I found the family in the 1850 census of Augusta Co. as Oliver T. & Harriet MANN although Harriet is listed 3rd from last among the children. There is a son, John that is about the right age (13). There are also 6 other children including John listed as follows: John, age 13 William, age 8 Charles, age 5 Taylor, age 3 Harriet, age 35 (this is who I think is the wife, 2nd one?) Margaret, age 17 Lucretia, age 5 John C. MANN served as a Private in the 14th VA Cavalry, Companies I and C. His military records list his birthplace as Rockingham Co. His brother, Charles H. MANN was also a Private in the 14th VA Cavalry, Company C. His birth is listed on military records as Rockingham Co. in 1846. I would like to know more about this family and whether and when they were in Rockingham Co. Also would like to find out if Harriet is Oliver T. MANN's first wife or not. John C. MANN is my GG-grandfather. Please contact me if you are familiar with or related to this family and have info to share. cindy musgrove cindy_musgrove@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Jim, I have more info on my Bear side than I do on my Runkle side. My husbands ggggrand parents were Henry Baer and Catherine Runkle Baer. Henry Baer/Bear was born in Rockingham Cty, Va 1769/1852 married around 1792 to Catherine Runkle born 1773, died Oct. 9, 1846. Both are buried in Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton, Va. Catherine's parents were Peter Runkle and Margaret Cook of East Point, Rockingham Cty, Va. Henry and Catherine Bear had 9 children. My husbands line is from their son Col. Jacob Bear. Is this the same Runkle family you are searching? Debbie ----- Original Message ----- From: Joseph J. 1. [VAROCKIN] Dear Santa-Dec. 16, 1914
    2. While searching for obituaries in microfilm copies of The Daily-News Record (Harrisonburg, Virginia) a while back I ran across these "Letters to Santa" published on December 16th, 1914 and was struck by the simple things the children requested some 85 years ago. There’s only a slight touch of genealogical data in a few of them (some mention a brother or sister). The letters are mostly a window into what life was like back them. I also have letters published in the Wednesday, Dec. 17th issue, but I didn’t type them into this email. If you scroll all the way to the end, I will list the names of those children who wrote letters that were published in that issue of the Daily News-Record (which, by the way, cost 2 cents in 1914). If you see someone you know, let me know and I’ll send you their letter in an email. 3. Hi M Archer, I am interested in your message as I have a Jacob "Jake" Miller that I know only one thing about: He married Sarah BROWNE (Sally), who was born 15 Oct 1834 in Rockingham Co, VA. She is the sister of one of my direct ancestors. Sometimes dates help as clues. There were 10 children - 9 brothers & sisters of Sarah BROWNE. They were born from 1826 through 1845 to John BROWNE & his wife, Elizabeth "Polly" ZIMMERMAN, all born in Rockingham Co, VA. I have no dates for Jacob Miller. IF you think this ties in with your Jacob Miller's family, I would like to hear from you. Phyllliss Simth DAVIS - Glendale, AZ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
