However, don't see Johan, John or Peter. Zimmermann's (spelling different) shown are Anna, Barbara, George, Henry, Salome, and William. George, Sr. and Anna Zimmermann are the parents of William (b. May 28, 1775), Henry (b. May 12, 1778), Barbara, and Salome (b. Aug. 22, 1771). Don't know if these are any relation to your Johan.

Hi List. I am interested in any imigration from Rockingham Co., Va. to Fairfield Co., Ohio. My ancestor John Kindle (Kendall) came to Fairfield co. about 1803, near as I can tell. He came from Virginia, not sure what county. Could be Rockingham Co., Orange Co., or Fauquier Co. Does any one have any information on him? My brick wall is who are his parents? Any help appreciated. Hi everyone, On July 20th, I am traveling to Rockingham County with a "mission" to find the Strickler/Pickering Family Cemetery that supposedly still exists on the "Old Woodley Farm" on or near Smith's Creek slightly to the south of New Market. Does anyone know exactly where it is located? I have not found any maps to help prepare for the search. If I find it, I want to do some rubbings of the gravestones who are burying there. Thanks !! Keith
I descend from Thoms 'The Quaker' Loker who died March 20, 1795 in Smith's Creek, Tenth Legion, Rockingham Co., VA. Thomas' children (that I know of) were Grace, John & James. Grace married Jacob Woodley. This is my direct line that descens from Thomas Loker: Thomas 'The Quaker' Loker John Loker & Elizabeth unknown William Loker (Lokey) & Rachel Bowers John Looker & Edith (Edy) Mathews Laurence Frank Looker & Margaret Lilley Pearl Looker & Charles W. Diebold Helen Diebold & Ray Cooke Smith (my grandparents) I have that Jacob & Grace (Loker) Woodley's daughter Barbara married William Pickering. William & Barbara (Woodley) Pickering's son Abraham Pickering married Anne Loker (Lokey) on March 25, 1799 In Rockingham Co., VA. This Anne Loker was the daughter of James Loker (son of Thomas 'The Quaker' Loker) and Frances Betty Russel. Many of the decendants of Thomas 'The Quaker' settled in Licking, Fairfield & Hardin Counties, OH. My Looker family (John Looker & Edy Mathews) settled in Hardin Co., OH around 1839. I have some marriages between Loker's & Pitt(ington), Spitzser, Martz, Pickering, Woodley & Dovel surnames. Patti Smith, Delaware, OH Researching VA Rockingham Co. I am trying to find membersof the FRYE FAMILY. The Earliest entry I have is, Joseph Milton Frye, born September 26,1860 in Virginia. He was married to Annie Sharpe. Margaret Gallagher mggall@ccpl.carr.org
CARDEL LOKER married my ancestor FANNIE REBECCA NISWANDER 21 Sept 1873 in Rockingham County, Virginia. He was 21 years 11 months old at the time. His parents were THOMAS and MARY BURNS LOKER. I have this info from Cardell and Fannie's marriage record. This is my only sighting of the man. I have found no record that he came to Iowa with the Niswander family. I think something must have gone very wrong with the marriage of Fannie and Cardel, Fannie took back her maiden name and also changed her son's name to Niswander. I have found no record of the Thomas Loker family in Virginia although I did find on a death index a Betsey, daughter of Thomas and Mary Loker, who died 9 April 1856 at the age of 25 years. Rebecca Frances "Fannie" Niswander was born in Rockingham County, Virginia 2 September 1873. Census records show she had a son born c. 1874 in Virginia. A letter from the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn, Iowa provides some information on Luther Niswander. It says his middle name was Samuel, that his father was Luther LOKER and his mother Fannie Niswander.
