    3. Thanks so VERY much for this information. When you say, "It is very likely that the bond will indicate Elizabeth's father's name." are these usually located at the court house? Thanks for this great suggestion. I live about 50 miles from the Rockingham court house, so it is something I could look for there, do you think? Thanks again. 2. Fellow searchers, If anyone has the Pa. Census and can help this fellow, I know he'd appreciate it. Many times some kind soul over in the UK has offered their help to me. I do not have the Census CD's or I would. Thanks so much, Pat Stonemetz Researching-Carroll/Carrell-Kelly-Clem in Shenandoah & Rockingham Co.'s. Dear Pat I wonder if you might tell me how I can find a person on the 1900, 1910 or 1920 Pennsylvania census, in particular:-- John Henry DENCHER (the 1890 Philadelphia City directory shows him as a paper hanger at 4547 Miller, Gtn [probably Gtn is short for Germantown]). He left Leicester after 1881 and died in 1911 in Philadelphia aged 47. Perhaps the Mormons have an indexed CD for a USA census. Stan DENCHER denchers@croner.cch.co.uk Oxfordshire, England

    1. [VAROCKIN] PHILIPS/PHILLIPS
    2. Happy 2001 everyone! I saw someone else ask about this family, and thought while everyone was looking or thinking about them, I'd ask as well ;-) I have not researched this family much, but you have to start somewhere. I am looking for a JOHN & RACHEL PHILIPS (or PHILLIPS) who had a daughter REBECCA ANN PHILIPS (b. 8 Feb 1831, d. 17 Nov 1905) who m. 26 Feb 1852 WILLIAM CAMPBELL. Per census records & marriage record, Rebecca was born in Shenandoah County. William & Rebecca were married in Mt. Jackson by the Rev. St. John Rinker by affidavit of Hiram Bowman and are buried in Rockingham County in Mt. Olivet Cemetery west of Timberville. There is a Rachel, consort of John Philips buried at Solomon's Church in Forestville. As of yet, I have found no record of John Philips in that area. Possible siblings of Rebecca are as follows (taken from marriage records where the parents are listed as "John & Rachel Philips") ELIZABETH CATHERINE PHILIPS (19 Jan 1836 - 19 Apr 1885) WILLIAM H. PHILIPS (b. circa 1840) JAMES K. PHILIPS (b. circa 1843) Thanks for your assistance, Don *************************************************** Don Silvius Co-coordinator Shenandoah County VAGenWeb <http://www.rootsweb.com/~vashenan/vashenan.html> ***************************************************

    2. daisygambel
    3. Hello and Happy New Year ! I just joined the list tonight, so i thought I'd post the family line that I am currently researching. I've been trying to find out who the parents were of Levi Trout. He was born abt. 1804-1805 in Virginia (supposedly Rockingham Co.). He married Margaret Thompson bet. 1825-1828 in Rockingham Co. I have searched a few microfilms but haven't been able to find a record of Levi's birth, baptism, or marriage. Has anyone come across Levi Trout during their research ? I'd really appreciate any help in this matter. It's been a brickwall for me for awhile. Thanks. Sincerely, Joy
