    1. [VAROCKIN] David Lyons
    2. John Routson
    3. My great great great grandfather, David Lyons, was born in Rockingham Co. before 1786. He married there 11Mar 1807. Several years later he and his wife's family moved to Preble Co., Ohio. I am searching for any information on David's father. Family legend has it that he was born in England. After David's birth, the father returnedto England to secure a legacy and was never heard from again. When the father left, David was bound out to another family, name unknown. Has anyone on the list every run across a Lyons family living in Rockingham Co at the time of the American Revolution? Any info would be appreciated. John Routson Murrieta, CA

    1. [VAROCKIN] Fw: Confederate Medical War Records in Virginia
    2. Lester Dinkins
    3. Need advice and/or guidance... If a Confederate soldier was admitted to the Jackson Hospital (military?) in Richmond for several months in 1864, would there be separate medical records maintained in the Virginia archives on these patients? Or, were all the records integrated into their unit records and returned to the states where the soldier originated? Could one of you refer me to someone who may help me with this? John Dinkins

    1. [VAROCKIN] Searching Salisbury/Leibrook or Lybrook
    2. Rose Core
    3. I am a new lister searching for gggrandparents William Salisbury and Mary (Leibrook or Lybrook) Salisbury, and have hit the proverbial brick wall. The 1850 Louisiana Census enumerates Wm and Mary along with several children, all from Louisiana. In the 1850 Census, William (born @ 1815-1819) 35 yrs old, was from Virginia, and Mary (born about 1825) 25 yrs old, was from Germany. I have searched in LA and found they both died in New Orleans. So I am now back tracking to VA, but I don't know where in VA. I believe Mary had a brother, Francis, and a sister, Catherine Leibrook. One document says that Francis was from Alsace, born about 1824. If anyone recognizes these names or can offer any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing from you. Also, can anyone tell me about the name "Leibrook". It doesn't seem to be very common in the New Orleans area. I am trying to learn the migration pattern along the way from Germany or France???? I just don't know where the Salisbury's and Leibrooks met up. Many thanks, Rose

    1. [VAROCKIN] Simmers, Summers, Fitzsimons, Baugher
    2. I'm trying to sort out all my Simmers, Summers and Fitzsimons relations from the Linville, Lacey Springs area. Starting with Simon Summers, b. 1817, who married Catherine Cline. They had Solomon (1852), Joseph (1850), Abigail (1854), Anna (1859) and Josephine (1867). Solomon and Abigail married brother and sister--Annie & Gideon Baugher, children of Perry H. Baugher and Mary Haga. John Frank Fitzsimons (1839-1867) married Susan Simmers, daughter of Christian Simmers and Hannah Jane Spitzer. We don't know what happened to John Fitzsimons, where he is buried, etc. Would like to share information with any other shirt-tail relatives with ties to these families. Thanks. Diana Fitzsimons
