Are you familiar with the book that was published by Paul Holsinger in 1969 (I believe) on the Holsinger family? It should be available through inter-library loan at your local library (they probably don't have a copy sent it was privately published). I don't know how reliable the information, but Michael Holsinger covered in this book was born 1819, son of David Holsinger; he married Babara [---?---]. There is some confusion on this family. I also have a Michael Holsinger, born 1814, who married Mary Spitzer, son of Alexander Holsinger, son of Michael Holsinger, born 1819. Something is definitely wrong! Not to add to the apparent confusion over Hannes (John) Fudge and John Peter Fudge, but I believe Jo Bennett is on the right track concerning Harshmans with the Fudge line being mentioned. As stated, the younger David Fudge did marry Elizabeth Hunter in Warren County, Ohio, on August 9, 1804. It is my understanding that David and Elizabeth had a son, Thomas J. Fudge, born January 18, 1815, (died in 1861). In turn, Thomas J. Fudge married Phebe Ann Pence, the daughter of Henry Pence and Mary "Polly" HARSHMAN, on March 21, 1839, in Eaton, Preble County, Ohio. Mary "Polly" Harshman was the d/o Daniel HARSHMAN and Barbara Huffman. So, yes, this particular line of Fudge did indeed marry into the Harshman line or vice versa. Whether Daniel Fudge, Jr.'s grandfather was John Peter Fudge or Hannes (John) Fudge is still open to debate, I guess. Richard: I have considerable information on the Pirkey family (as it is generally spelled); however, I am not aware that he left a will. The Rockingham abstract of executor bonds does not include one for him. There may be an obituary for him, but I'm not aware of it. He married Anna Elizabeth Kiger (as it is generally spelled now) on 2 June 1818 in Rockingham County. He died 12 April 1852 in Rockingham. He was the son of Henry Pirkey and Anna Margaret Conrad. I descend from Henry and Margaret Pirkey (my ggggg grandparents) through their son Henry. The older Henry was the son of Henry (naturally) and Margaret ???.
