    1. Hedrick marriages/Rockingham County
    2. Mike and Amber Sellers
    3. I would like to request a marriage lookup for a couple of Hedrick marriages in Rockingham County. I'm not sure of the marriage date, so I'll apologize now for it resembling a shot-in-the-dark. Hedrick marriages in Rockingham County that I'm looking for are: - John Hedrick to "Lydia" around 1820. They had a son, William, born about Dec. 24, 1822. I believe William was the first born, but I could be wrong. - George W. Hedrick to "Nancy F." circa 1858. Their first child, Lucian Hedrick, was born about 1859 followed by daughter Alice M. Hedrick in Feb. 1861. So, I think the marriage was about 1857 or 1858. I'm interested in learning the maiden names of the brides as well as in any other info that is associated with the marriage record(s) if there is any. Thank you very much in advance for any and all help with these two marriages. Michael Sellers

    3. Roughly, Chestnut Ridge is bounded on the West by the Valley Turnpike (Route 11), on the East by Indian Trail Road (Route 717), on the North by Fellowship Rd (Route 721) and to the South by Old Furnace Rd (Route 718). I too would be interested in knowing what family(s) you're searching for in that area. I have a lot of ancestors there. Archibald Brock lived in that area; perhaps a small creek ran through there that once carried his name. It flows along state route 613 going North and joins and becomes Turley Creek at the small village of Turleytown A wooded ridge about 1/2 mile off 613 on the west on a road called Franks Lane used to be called Chestnut Ridge. 3. The Hogshead name is indeed rather strange, however, it was fairly prevalent in the latter half of the 1700s and well into the 1800s in Augusta County. The John Hogshead and wife Nancy Wallace you mention were my 6th Great Grandparents. My connection is through their daughter, Agnes Nancy Hogshead, who married James Bell.
