    3. Sue Propst, I am trying to do research on the Shaeffer family. My grgrgrgrandfather Jacob Shaeffer married Elizabeth Propst in Shenandoah County. Their children were born in Rockingham County, some around Dayton, and then they moved to Ohio during the Civil War because there was fighting on their farmland. My research hasn't gotten me very far in VA. Are there any suggestions that you can give me or possibly was Elizabeth a member of one of your ancestors family? If you can help me at all, I certainly would appreciate anything that you can suggest. Thank you. 2. Deb, Good to see that you are still getting to do research. I have not done as much as I would like to lately, due to keeping my grandson. He is 22 months and quite active. He has been with us full time since he was 3 months old. Thanks for the newspaper articles. I love how the old ones were written (Death Angel). Take care and hope we meet again soon. Issac Long, calmly passed to the better world last Friday morning at 1 o'clock. She had been a great sufferer for some time, and to be snatched up in the angles'arms must have been a great relief to her. She was 66 years, 4 months and 5 days old, and had been for many years a faithful member of the German Baptist church. She was the last of the Saufley family, and leaves a true and loving husband and seven children to mourn her departure. Her remains were interred in Mill Creek cemetery Saturday. Rev. S.F. Sanger, of Bridgewater, preached an impressive sermon in that large church nearly full of relatives and friends, not withstanding the snow and rain.

Shank, Esq.; died very suddenly at her home in Singers Glen last Friday about 1 o'clock p.m. On the day previous she had an attack which quite probably was apoplexy, but had recovered and was at her work as usual when the death angel called her home. In early life she professed faith in Christ and united with the Lutheran church, and adorned her profession by a quiet, reserved, Christian life. She lived not for herself, but for others, willing to spend and be spent for the good she might do for those around her. She was a daughter of the late Josiah Beery, Esq., and in the 56th year of her age. Besides her husband and six children, all grown daughters, other relatives and friends mourn the loss of a true Christian friend--one whose life, in many respects, was worthy of imitation. Funeral service by Rev. W.R. Berry, at Singers Glen church and cemetery.
