Ken, My husband is related to the Smiths and Gaylors of Rockbridge County, so I was very interested in the discussion that you and Faye have been having about John M. Smith and his children. I noticed that the birthdate for Andrew Smith's wife, Sena Virginia Irvine Smith seems off if the birthdate for their daughter, Sallie is accurate. If Sena was born in 1865 and Sallie was born in 1871, Sena would have been only 7 years old which would be impossible. Could there have been a typo somewhere? (As an aside, I find it interesting that my husband's grandmother was Lora Zena Smith. It makes me wonder if they got the name Zena from Sena.) Also, I am wondering if John M. Smith's father James could have been the brother of my husband's ggg-grandfather, John Smith who was married to Nelly Gaylor? Do you have any ideas or information about them?
