George was born March 5, 1750 in Bornheim, Germany. It is believed that the couple moved to Rockbridge County sometime after their marriage of May 25, 1773 in St. Michael's, Philadelphia. George may have been a soldier in the American Revolutionary War, possibly serving in the Virginia Militia (but this speculation on my part).
