I have been checking connections by marriage in County Donegal and while doing some research , I found a John McCluer and William McCluer in the Hearth Rolls 1665. Perhaps some of their ancestors emigrated - later generations emigrated to the United States/ Canada, but by that time the name was spelt McClure. Regards George
