Surnames: Davidson, Davison, Baker, Thompson, Thomson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4BC.2ACI/2095.2 Message Board Post: It now looks like the William Davi(d)son who married Martha Baker may have come into Prince Edward County, VA out of Buckingham County, VA (probably from a Davi(d)son family that was in Goochland and Cumberland Counties before that). William died in Botetourt County in 1812 (I now have his will), but he apparently had a home in Rockbridge County, VA about 1775-1781 (later owned by some of Martha's relatives, the Thom(p)sons) and eventually owned by one of her sons, the Reverend Andrew Baker Davidson). It looks like William and Martha had Baker, Andrew Baker, William, Jr., Joseph, probably Thomas and maybe John (as well as several daughters). I'm still trying to determine for sure who William's parents were, but a William, Edward and David Davison joined the militia in PECo in the 1770s and all of them, plus two additional Williams (a senior and a junior), appear to have been in Buckingham County before that. I believe that one of the three Williams from Buckingham marrie! d Martha Baker.
