Camden first appears in the Rockbridge County personal property tax list in 1844. In the next few years he is shown with Merriweather L. and William Camden. Based on this information and the fact that in Nelson Co. in 1847 he was party to the administrator's bond for the estate of William W. Camden I believe that he is the son of of this William W. Camden and Jane Hight. I have checked the Rockbridge Co. death register and have not found an entry for Chapman Camden. Is it possible that he might have moved to Augusta County and died there?
