Surnames: Davidson, Thompson, Thomson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4BC.2ACI/1185.1 Message Board Post: A different Sarah "Sally Davidson, also a daughter of a John Davidson, married James Gilmore in 1784 in Rockbridge County, VA. Do you know who her father was? I know that there were two sets of John Davidsons, each with sons named John. One of the older Johns (died 1762) married an Elizabeth and one of the older Johns (died 1798) married Sarah (the one you discuss herein). The one who married Elizabeth had a son named John (born 1757) who apprently married a Mary Thomson. The John who married Sarah had a John Junior (as you state; probably born by 1740, I would guess). I don't know who he married, but one record showed that he also married a Mary. Do you know who he married? Thanks for any help you can provide on the above.
