Mary Frances Cummings is a good source on Rockbridge Families and their history, however, she does not have email. Her grandparents lived just down the road from the Womeldorf farm and she stayed with them for awhile. She lives on Maple Lane in Lexington and is listed in the phone book under Mrs. Russell F. Cummings. The Womeldorf farm on Old Buena Vista Road is in the process of being sold for a 130 unit development, however, the developers plan to keep and restore the house. There has been a lot of controversy about it but the area is targed for growth and sewer and water are available. A public hearing about the development will be held at the Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday night.
