John Green's second wife was Nancy J. Irvine d/o Robert and Sarah Morris Irvine. Sarah was dau of 4th GGrandfather. But this ties the Irvines in ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2004 9:01 PM Subject: Re: [VAROCKBR] Margaret Armstong > Ken, > I have a copy of his marriage license to Ella Irvine, Sena's (my grandmother) sister. Her Father was William Montgomery Irvine and her Mother was Martha J. Goodbar Irvine. The marriage license had Margaret (no last name) and no father was listed. They were married in 1883 and he died in 1887. He was struck by lightening. They had 3 girls. I can't seem to find that paperwork at this time this is from memory so I don't remember exact dates. Ella remarried, to Samuel Irvine, and they moved to Green County, IN around 1910. > The information I received from a cousin said that Andrew had a half brother, William Armstrong. I found him in the 1880 census for Buffalo District at the household of John Green. Ella was also listed in the same household at that time as a cousin. I don't know where John Green's family comes in unless it is through James & Sally Ludwick. James's sister Mary married Robert Green. Ella was 14 when they got married. > I also have been in contact with William's ggggranddaughter. She provided me with a lot of information about Ella's family but she didn't have anything on William. The W&L library had the article about his death. It was not an obituary but an article about his and another childs death by lightening. > When John and Margaret got married in 1867 William would have been what 6 years old. I do not have anything to prove that Margaret Armstrong Black Smith was William's mother at this time. > I think that about covers it. > > Thank you, > Faye > > > In a message dated 6/29/2004 9:46:20 AM Eastern Daylight Time, "Ken Morris" <[email protected]> writes: > > >Faye > >Thomas Ayres died19 Feb 1882 of pneumonia, age 80yr 1mo h/o Magdelene, rpt'd > >by wife. > >So Margaret did not marry Thomas Ayres.
