This William Leech is brother to mygggrandfather Henry Leech (m. Isabella Hall). The information I have on this family is as follows: David Leech b. 5 Jan 1764 Lancaster Co., PA, married Margaret Miller 17 Sept 1788, Rockbridge Co., VA to Margaret Miller b. abt 1761 probably VA. David died after 1816 in Rockbridge Co., VA and Margaret about 1840 in the same place. ( I have not had time to trace cemetery records of wills to be more specific) Children are: 1Elizabeth or Anna b. 1789, Rockbridge m. John B. Miller 25 Aug 1812, Rockbridge; 2nd marriage Capt. James Montgomery 13 Jan 1857, Rockbridge d.17 Jun 1874 2Henry (my kin) b. 9 Aug 1790, Rockbridge m. Isabella Hall 23 Feb 1815, Rockbridge, died 24 May 1868, Rockbridge 3David, Jr. b. 3 Aug 1794, Rockbridge m. Nancy Leech 12 Oct 1825 Rockbridge, d. 14 Dec 1872, Rockbridge, buried Collierstown Presbyterian Churchyard. 4Rebecca A. b. 7 Oct 1796, Rockbridge m. Thomas Leech Scott 7 March 1822 Rockbridge, d. 8 Nov 1877, Rocvkbriddge, buried Oxford Presbyterian Churchyard 5William (yours) married Nancy Kirkpatrick Wilson 15 Dec 1836 Rockbridge, buried in Oxford Presbyterian Churchyard, 6Thomas b. before 1816, Rockbridge, 7James b. before 1816, Rockbridge 8Martha, b. before 1816, Rockbridge 9Janei, b. before 1816, Rockbridge I am interested in any information that you have on this family. There are descendents still living in Rockbridge Co., VA on the land, I think, that David Leech purchased. I haven't checked this but the family has been active in the Oxford and Collierstown Presbyterian Churches from the 1700s or the date of the founding of the church.
