Samuel emigrated to Oregon on the Old Oregon Trail with his four sons in 1852; John, William Bailey (my g-grandfather), Benjamin, and Richeson (Richard) W.from Knox Co. Illinois. He served in the War of 1812 with Biddle's Pennsylvania Volunteers and was awarded land in Knox Co. IL for his military service. Samuel Donaca and Elizabeth Cook had nine children: Thomas, Randall, Rebecca Ann, John, William Bailey (my great grandfather), Richeson (Richard) W., and Benjamin plus two unknown. William Bailey Donaca carried the first mail, owned a stage line and livery stable, and a grocery store. He married Lenora Jane Harbin in 1871 and they had six children; John, Elizabeth Ellen "Lizzie" (my grandmother), William H., Charles W., Farrell, and Morton. My father, Evan Donaca Oliver, was an only child. I have information about other descendants of the four sons of Samuel Donaca. Any information about the parents of Samuel Donica/Donaca or the country they came from will be much appreciated.
